You need an Invoice Mama account. Start for free if you don't have one yet, then come back and connect. Start for free.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open way for an AI app to use another tool. Invoice Mama speaks MCP, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and similar apps can connect with one address and use only the actions you approve.

What your assistant can do

  • Find clients

Search for a client and see their name and contact details.

  • Look up invoices and estimates

Ask for a specific invoice or estimate, or look through recent ones. Invoice details from this connection do not include the customer's email.

  • See unpaid and overdue invoices

Check which invoices are still open, and which ones are past due.

  • Prepare drafts you review

The assistant can draft an invoice or an estimate. You check it in Invoice Mama before a client sees it.

Invoice Mama never sends an invoice or estimate from the assistant. It also cannot mark an invoice paid or take a payment. You send the finished document yourself, when you are ready.

Try a prompt

After you connect, ask in plain language. You still review every draft before a client sees it.

  • Which invoices are overdue?
  • Draft an invoice for Acme for 10 hours at $90.
  • Find the client named Acme.
  • Which invoices are still unpaid?

Add it to your app

Each app asks you to sign in to Invoice Mama and approve access. You can disconnect the assistant in that app. To fully revoke access, contact support.

Claude

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Invoice Mama and paste the connector address.
  4. Continue, sign in to Invoice Mama, and approve access.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector in Organization settings first. You then connect it from Customize.

In Claude Code, add it from the terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http invoicemama https://mcp.invoicemama.com/mcp

Start Claude Code, run /mcp, select invoicemama, and choose Authenticate. Finish sign-in in the browser.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Plugins, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins and choose Create.
  3. Name it Invoice Mama, paste the connector address, and add a short description.
  4. Create the connection, sign in to Invoice Mama, and approve access.

Older accounts may still show Apps instead of Plugins. Developer mode on the web covers Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education. Creating a draft needs write access, which OpenAI lists as a beta on Business, Enterprise, and Edu. Pro can connect for reading. On a work plan, an admin turns developer mode on first.

Cursor

  1. Click Add to Cursor and confirm the install when Cursor opens.
  2. Sign in to Invoice Mama when Cursor asks, and approve access.

You can also add a remote server in Cursor MCP settings. Name it invoicemama and use the connector address. Install Cursor before you use the button.

VS Code

  1. Click Add to VS Code and confirm the install. This works with Copilot in VS Code.
  2. Sign in to Invoice Mama when VS Code asks, and approve access.

Confirm the server in VS Code before you start it. Install VS Code before you use the button.

Grok

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, then Custom.
  3. Paste the connector address and finish sign-in.

On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin adds it first. In console.x.ai, open Grok Business, then Connectors, choose Add Connector, then Other, and enter the same address. People on the team connect it afterward at grok.com/connectors.

Another app can use the same address when it asks for a remote MCP server over HTTPS. Paste the connector address, sign in, and approve access.
